WWF’s Basket initiative sets out a blueprint for food companies to sustainably transform the food system. Centred on the UK, the WWF Basket includes both a defined set of outcomes and measures and a clear blueprint for action.
Through this initiative, priority actions against climate and nature crises for UK food retailers are identified, serving as pieces of the puzzle food companies need to solve on their journey towards sustainability. When signing up to the WWF Basket, retailers will be asked to provide information on their business operations so WWF can measure their progress towards their goal of halving the environmental impact of UK grocery store baskets by 2030.
